Job Overview

We are pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Project Manager position associated with a government contract based in Silver Spring, MD. This hybrid role allows for primarily remote work, with an expectation for in-person presence 1 to 2 days per week for essential meetings and events.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Chief of Staff in the Communications Division of the National Weather Service (NWS) to ensure effective outreach and communication.
Formulate and execute strategic communication plans for National Safety Campaigns, integrating insights from a variety of agency stakeholders.
Oversee internal communication coordination, guaranteeing that NWS personnel and field offices are well-informed and equipped with essential resources.
Manage external communication efforts, partnering with WRN associates and engaging targeted public demographics.
Create and refine compelling content for diverse formats including websites, social media, toolkits, graphics, videos, news articles, op-eds, speeches, and briefing papers for special initiatives.
Serve as the content manager for NWS websites, confirming that all posted information is accurate and user-friendly.
Provide on-site assistance in producing high-quality presentation materials, such as publications, brochures, fact sheets, posters, and signage, for both internal and external audiences.
Deliver graphic design support to the NWS Director and additional offices as necessary, ensuring that materials are visually appealing and consistent with the NWS mission.
Manage and execute multimedia design services across print, web, and video platforms.
Develop engaging web content, including podcasts and video segments, ensuring adherence to accessibility standards (508 compliance).
Produce broadcast-quality video and photography for web use and media distribution.

Required Skills

Established experience in project management, ideally within a government or public sector setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal capabilities, with a talent for engaging diverse audiences effectively.
Proficient in content creation and media production, featuring skills in graphic design and web development.
Knowledge of strategic communication methodologies and multimedia production techniques.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management or a related field is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Communications, Project Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
